The Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) is an initiative of the Government of Punjab under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mr. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. To make it more efficient, transparent and autonomous in its functioning, it is registered under section 42 of the Companies Ordinance, 1984. PEEF is established with the objective of providing scholarships/monetary assistance to talented and needy students for pursuing quality education with equal opportunities.
- FOCUS
The Punjab Educational Endowment Fund endeavors to bring best educational opportunities to the less privileged and talented youth of Punjab, and bring them at par with the most fortunate ones. This scheme under guidance of the Chief Minister, Mr. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is providing opportunities to the talented but needy students to fulfill their dreams and aspirations and at the same time become partner in the development and welfare of country.
- APPROACH

PEEF is a proactive scholarship scheme which provides funds at the doorstep of the talented and deserving students. Allocation of these scholarships is on the basis of Tehsils and District wise results of students. More focus of these scholarships is towards the fifteen less developed districts, especially from southern Punjab. Special quotas for orphans, children of BPS (1-4) govt. employees, disabled, minorities and widows have also been allocated. Bright and needy students of other provinces AJK, FATA, Gilgit Baltistan, Sindh & Balochistan have also been provided opportunities for higher education through this program. PEEF so far has awarded more than 16,620 scholarships.
PHASE IIn the first phase (year 2008 - 2009), only students enrolled in government institutions were considered for scholarships and based on the BISEs results of 2008 (annual), PEEF awarded 5,326 scholarships to meritorious and deserving students of Punjab.
PHASE IIIn the second phase (year 2009 - 2010) the sphere of scholarships was extended to both public and private institutions and awarded 5,434 scholarships to students of Punjab and other provinces.
PHASE IIIThe third phase (year 2010 - 2011) is in progress and PEEF has allocated 5,660 scholarships. These scholarships will be awarded to students of; Government Schools / Colleges, FG Schools and Colleges situated in Punjab, Students of eligible Private Affiliated Schools / Colleges and students of Punjab Board of Technical Education (PBTE).
- YOUTH DEVELOPMENT CENTRE
The Chief Minister, Punjab/Chairman-PEEF Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has allocated the newly built suites at South Block Punjab House, Murree to The Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF). This facility is being used as boarding and educational / training facility for the brilliant students.
- FOREIGN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

PEEF has launched the Foreign Scholarships for Master Level studies for the brilliant and needy students to pursue higher education in the top ranking universities of the world. These scholarships are awarded to students from Punjab who want to pursue higher studies in the following Priority Subject Areas:
- Physical Sciences
- Earth, Atmosphere and Marine Sciences
- Engineering, Technology and Mathematics
- Information Technology
- FINANCIALS

This endowment fund was initially established with seed money of Rs. 2 billion, which has now been raised to Rs. 6 billion. The Govt. of the Punjab has pledged to raise the endowment fund in the next two years to Rs. 10 billion. Investment proceeds out of this fund are utilized for the award of scholarships.
